Dr. Economos' innovative research examines childhood nutrition and physical activity, particularly in urban and rural areas, with the goal of improving the health of America's children.	From his efforts to improve patient safety and quality in surgical practice, to informing national reform initiatives, surgeon and writer Dr. Atul Gawande has helped change the way both physicians and policymakers think about health care delivery.
