Tim’s professional background spans previous roles in journalism, public relations and advocacy. As Director of Public Affairs at Amplify Public Affairs, he supported the communications efforts of various health care organizations, including disease advocates, professional societies, academic centers, and medical device makers. His work helped grow the profile of influential research, experts and innovative products.
Before joining Amplify, at the nonprofit Research!America, Tim led a voter education initiative designed to educate the public on Congressional candidates’ views on accelerating medical progress in America. For the initiative, he integrated grassroots, social media, stakeholder engagement and public relations to achieve strong voter and candidate involvement.
Tim’s communications background also includes work for Edelman’s Federal Government Services practice, where he assisted on accounts for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. He’s previously led the public affairs efforts for the American Academy of Nursing, and he began his career as a reporter at the Northern Virginia Daily. Tim earned a Master’s in Strategic Public Relations from The George Washington University and earned a Bachelor’s in Advertising from West Virginia University.
