Imagine a health care system that came to you, without you having to go to it.

A system that met you where you are, in your home, workplace, or community.

A system that anticipated your needs and worked to keep you as healthy as possible, and that viewed your having to access “sick care” as a potential failure that meant that the system had let you down.

A system that was as convenient and accessible as other elements of your life that you now take for granted, such as ordering online from Amazon.

This is Health Care Without Walls.

What is New? What forces are enabling Health Care Without Walls, and what payment, legislative, regulatory, and other barriers stand in the way of it.

Who Should Attend? Health system care transformation leadership, clinical leadership and educators, disruptive technology developers, health informatics and data strategists, payers driving value transformation, patient care innovators and advocates, policy leaders and regulators.

The Network for Excellence in Health Innovation (NEHI) is leading an initiative to imagine what a vision of Health Care Without Walls could look like in 2025, if all aspects of current technologies – from telemedicine to remote monitoring, and from fully interoperable electronic health records to artificial intelligence– were brought to bear to create it.

To kick off Health Datapalooza 2018, NEHI will host a pre-conference event, “Health Care Without Walls: Forging a System of More Distributed Care,” to  focus on advancing a system in which care is delivered outside of conventional settings and moves more into individuals’ homes, workplaces, schools, and other community settings.

Panels of experts will discuss preliminary recommendations for employing new and emerging technologies, such as telemedicine, remote monitoring, and artificial intelligence, to transform how care is accessed and delivered.
